Seasons around the Year

The seasons are changing! What a great time to talk with your child about changes you see happening every day!

You and your child can visit this link to color fun pages right on your computer! No printer or crayons necessary!

Can you and your child place things with the correct season? Find out by visiting this site.

This game allows your child to identify the four seasons. Can they do it on their own? Can everyone in your home work together?

On this website, there are lots of activities about the four seasons. Some are easier than others, so your child may need help. Maybe you can take this opportunity to teach your child a new skill!

Watch the seasons as they change. What season are we leaving? What season is happening next? Discuss these and other topics with your child.

Water Conservation

Welcome back to our class blog!

This week we are working on a new word. Our new word is "conservation." We are specifically discussing this word in reference to water.

Our class is currently using the Project Wet curriculum to learn about water. Click on this link to find out more information.

This link has a game that teaches about water conservation. Your child can play this game with your or on their own as they become better at it.

Here is a link to find out information about water conservation around the house. Your child can explore this with your help and you can look for examples around the house together.

For information on an adult level about water conservation, this link provides good information.

Let's conserve water together!

Wild about animals

This week we will be studying animals. Students will learn:
  • parts of the animal
  • classification

I hope you like this first game. Animal Spots will help you and your child match animals and their parts.

What's my Class is a fun game that will help your child learn to sort animals into families.

The last game, Bird Watcher, is just for fun. You and your child can learn about different types of birds and see what environment they might live in.

Enjoy the games,

Mrs. Bullard

Planting Around

This week we will be studying the parts of a plant. The students need to be able to identify the following parts:
  • flower
  • roots
  • stem
  • leaf
  • petals

By clicking here, your child can practice matching the parts of a flower to it's name.

A game that can help you child's memory and recognition of flowers is Flowers for Mom.

With this third game, you can use Flower Power to help a butterfly find a flower.

I hope these games bring enjoyment while he/she learns about plants in this unit.
